The 25th Newport Beach Film Festival announced An Taibhse as part of its 2024 North American premieres. Its screening was scheduled for 19 October at Starlight Triangle Cinemas in Costa Mesa.
The announcement placed the film alongside a programme of Irish features and shorts. For An Taibhse, it followed the film’s world premiere in Galway and international premiere at FrightFest earlier that year.
Set in post-famine Ireland, the film centres on a father and daughter whose work as caretakers of a remote mansion becomes an encounter with terror. Tom Kerrisk and Livvy Hill lead the cast as Éamon and Máire.
