FIXION Fest named An Taibhse the winner of Best Cinematography in its 2025 feature-film awards, crediting John Farrelly and Ross Power.
The festival’s citation singled out the film’s landscapes and candlelit interiors. Those two settings give the images collected here their contrast: figures exposed in an open field, then drawn into the darkness of the house.
An Taibhse follows Éamon and his daughter Máire as they take work caring for an isolated mansion. Farrelly wrote and directed the Irish-language feature, with Tom Kerrisk and Livvy Hill in the central roles.
